With the Summer/Autumn Chapbook contest judged by Poet & Lecturer Michael Blackburn now published, we are delighted to announce our second Chapbook contest, with guest judge Kevin Higgins (Find out more about Kevin here)
The work of the top three entries as chosen by our judge will be included in a Chapbook which will be published in late May 2018 and will share the prize fund of €300.00 with the winner receiving €150.00 and the second and third receiving €100.00 & €50.00 respectively.
Up to 10 other entrants will be listed as Highly Commended and will each receive a copy of the published Chapbook. Their work will also appear in a special Summer edition of the magazine in May 2018.
The competition is open to new, emerging and established poets from any country BUT at least one of the three winners will be a debutante (with no chapbook or book published previously).
Entries must consist of 8 poems, in the English language and the sole work of the entrant with no translations or ‘versions’. The poems can be in verse or prose. Entries must be work not previously published by The Blue Nib. Submission to the contest assumes The Blue Nib is granted first publication rights to work.
Each of the three chapbook winners is guaranteed a review on the site. The ten runners up will be listed on the site along with the details of three winning entries in our Bumper Summer issue in May 2018.
The work of runners-up will appear in the special bumper Summer issue which will be on line in May 2018.
The chapbooks will be published in Early Summer 2018 or earlier and will be offered for sale internationally through our own websites and on Amazon.
